IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Victor Martinez Opens Muscle Maker Grill

IFBB Figure Pro Zivile Raudoniene to Become a WWE Diva?

If the rumors are true, the 2009 IFBB Figure International Champion Zivile Raudoniene may be exchanging high heels and sparkling suits for spandex and wrestling boots in the near future.

According to an article on Flex Magazine, Zivile will NOT be competing at this year's IFBB Figure Olympia because she's rumored to be heading to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Female Bodybuilder Britt Miller Retires From Competitive Bodybuilding

In a huge shocker to fans of female bodybuilding, fan favorite Britt Miller has announced her retirement from competitive bodybuilding.

Inside Bodybuilding wishes Britt the best of luck with all of her future endeavours.

"There are so many things in life that I want to do but have always been restricted due to bodybuilding. I admit that these restrictions were self-made but I wanted to be the best and I was willing to do anything to get there. To elaborate, I restricted myself from serious relationships, family, friends, and just life in general. I felt that I had to have that sense of independence and control to be my absolute best. Now I can see how silly this all appears.

Things that seem so important one day can seem completely irrelevant the next. I think this all ties in with me growing older and realizing what really matters in life, understanding that my friends and family and strong relationships create happiness for me. For the last 2 years I have been struggling to let bodybuilding go; feeling scared and afraid of being lost without my sense of achievement. I am so happy to say that I have finally come to ends with those thoughts.

I can not say that I will “never” compete again but I can say that I am the happiest I have ever been just living life day to day, knowing that I have made a positive difference in women’s bodybuilding and others lives."

Healthy 'N Fit Owner Robert Sepe Get Maximum Sententance For Killing His Fiancee

The family of bludgeoning victim Janette Carlucci rejected an apology from Robert Sepe, who was sentenced yesterday to 25 years to life in prison for beating her to death with a baseball bat last year.

"There is no excuse, no explanation, no apology we accept," said Melissa Smith, the victim's cousin.

Sepe, a Cortlandt businessman, had been convicted of second-degree murder for killing Carlucci - his 41-year-old fiancee - on March 22, 2008, in their home.

The attack happened when Carlucci would not cancel plans to host Easter dinner. She was beaten so badly she had to be identified through dental records.

Sepe, meanwhile, fled upstate to Binghamton, where he kept state police at bay for hours, threatening to kill himself by jumping off an overpass.

Westchester County Judge Barbara Zambelli, who presided over Sepe's trial in May, said it was impossible to imagine the horror Carlucci felt as her pleas for mercy were ignored during the vicious attack. She gave Sepe the maximum sentence allowed by law.

As the judge told Sepe his fate, the victim's teenage daughter, Candice Carlucci, fought back tears as she nodded her head in approval. Outside the courtroom, she threw her arms around her father, Anthony Carlucci, who held her in a comforting embrace.

Sepe, 54, had claimed he suffered from an "extreme emotional disturbance" and testified in his own defense that he was in a frenzied, delusional state when he hit Carlucci. He also testified that he had been taking several prescription medications for panic attacks and depression at that time.

Defense attorney Bruce Bendish asked the judge yesterday for a sentence of 15 years to life, noting Sepe's history with psychological problems.

Nutrition Global LLC of Milford, Connecticut is recalling certain batches of SNI Pro Whey, SNI Pro Mass and Sci Labs Mass Fuzion Dietary Supplement bearing LOT numbers as below because the products contain instant non-fact dry milk manufactured by the Plainview Milk Products Cooperative. Plainview has recently initiated a voluntary recall of its instant non-fat dry milk that has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.

Extensive Max Muscle Protein Recall

Max Muscle Sports Nutrition has issued a voluntary recall for Max Muscle products containing whey protein concentrate due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Some of the products affected include: Max Gourmet, Max Gourmet Gainer, Max Lean, High Five, Big Max 50, Triple Whey, and Max Pro.

This is an extension of the voluntary recall being conducted by one of the company’s suppliers, Plainview Milk Products Cooperative.

Iconic Wholesale Supplement Distributor Bob O’ Leary Sports Science (BOSS) Shuts Down

After many years in the business, iconic sports nutrition supplement wholesaler Bob O’ Leary Sports Science (BOSS) has shut its doors. BOSS has issued no official statement to date.

Based in Scranton, Pennsylvania, BOSS also had its own retail catalog “Body Talk” that helped promote their company and whose cover featured many top male and female physique competitors.

According to industry reports, a new company - USA Sports, LLC has purchased the assets to the company and brought over Joe Miles, the former head of BOSS to lead the new company.

IDS Sports Assures Safety of New Whey Products Following Recall

IDS Sports (IDS) assured customers of the safety of its New Whey liquid products following a recent recall of a limited quantity of New Whey liquid products among other products manufactured by Protica Inc., of Whitehall, Pennsylvania.

IDS terminated its relationship with Protica in February 2009. IDS's present New Whey products are manufactured by a source other than Protica. These products are entirely safe and not subject to the recall. No tampering issues are known to have occurred with New Whey products since the change in manufacturer.

The recent recall announcement applies to products which were recalled voluntarily by IDS Sports earlier this year. These products were returned and were destroyed or otherwise determined not to have been the subject of product tampering.

Body Found at NY Building Where the Sister of IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Victor Martinez Went Missing

A female body was found stuffed inside an air-conditioning duct Saturday in a Manhattan skyscraper where a cleaning woman disappeared four days ago.

Police discovered the corpse, hidden in a utility room duct, just before 9 a.m. as they began searching the 26-story tower for 46-year-old Eridania Rodriguez.

The remains had not been officially identified as of late Saturday, but police spokesman Paul Browne said investigators presumed the body was that of Rodriguez, who had been missing since Tuesday night.

A medical examiner was on the scene trying to confirm the find and determine how the woman died. Authorities believe she was murdered but haven't identified a suspect. They have questioned some people who work in the building.

"We just want answers," Rodriguez' brother, professional bodybuilder Victor Martinez, told WNYW-TV.

Adulterated Hi-Tech Stamina-Rx Recalled

Supplement company Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals is recalling all lots of its Stamina-Rx product as a result of recent testing by the FDA that determined the presence of undeclared benzamidenafil, a prescription drug used for treating ED (erectile dysfunction).

Although Stamina-Rx was marketed as a dietary supplement, under DSHEA, the presence of a prescription drug makes them adulterated products.

In addition, the FDA sent a recent letter to Hi-Tech informing Hi-Tech that the marketing of the products online and in product labeling positioned the products as unapproved new drugs.

Seems the FDA has a number of supplement companies on their radar screens which in the long run could turn out to be a positive for the dietary supplement industry if improved quality controls and safety regulations become more commonplace.

Cytosport Muscle Milk Referred to FDA and FTC for Ad Claims Following Challenge by Nestle USA

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has referred advertising claims made by CytoSport Beverage Company for its Muscle Milk product to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for further review, after CytoSport declined to participate in an NAD inquiry.

NAD, the advertising industry’s self-regulatory forum, requested that CytoSport provide

substantiation for certain advertising claims, following a challenge by Nestle USA.

The challenger held that Muscle Milk, marketed as a “High Protein Chocolate Milk Shake” is

a dietary supplement that is sold in grocery and convenience stores alongside milk and

other consumer beverages. The challenger maintained that the claim “Muscle Milk” is false

and misleading because it claims that the product contains actual milk when it does not and

that consumers are likely to be misled into thinking that they are buying a flavored or

supplemented milk product, when in fact, the product is a water-based dietary supplement.
